Crowley, beloved by every one in school, always ready to give her time and efforts to promote a spirit of loyalty, and who has been our counsellor and friend through all the difficulties encountered by us in founding this annual. CLASS OF 1913 Richard Darling Long, slanting hood, which gives it the appearance of a foreign six-cylinder. Two distinct sparking systems. Built for comfort. Runs better on alcohol than on gasoline. Naomi Ginn Small car, late model. Very slender and well adapted for racing. Runs best in company with the following car. Marguerite Hartman Large, well-built. Large hood, which shows tendency to come off. Self starting device, which works three times out of ten. poor magneto; bum spark. Virginia Ball Graceful air-cooled runabout. Built in Alamosa. Greatest objection is, that she is geared too low, causing the motor to race without giving much speed. Merle Jones Black detachable cones, short but graceful, self-cranking device, chain drive. Leather tread tires. Whether touring the Alps or traveling the muddy roads of Missouri, this is the car you want. Halsey Stuart Heavy touring car built without brakes, fenders or wind-shields; requires best quality of gasoline, and runs behind a pair of good lamps. Bessie Milyard Bum carburetor; back-fire called a giggle; but in a good atmosphere she works without a murmur. Heavy machine, bad for sandy roads. Marcus Stevens (Duryea) Two-point suspension. Bash magneto. Long stroke motor. Driven overland from Illinois in 1909, and was badly damaged by trip. Hazel Nissen Originally a racer, but was rebuilt after colliding with a cottonwood tree, and now, with a new coat of paint once a week, does very nicely for what she is used for. Alice Whitney Was racked by poor management during the first year out, being run without water and oil, but in spite of all this, she will run many a mile if a knocking in her crank case is attended to. Merle McCandless Built up high off the gound - thirty three inches clearance. Loose bearings, and very noisy. Battery ignition with make-and-break sparker. Helen Norton Classy little roadster, built on sound principles. Central control, hub brakes and electric lights. Very sensitive clutch and if care is not taken in starting her off, the differential gears may be stripped. Hazel Good This touring car was built in Monte Vista, and while there was hammered over the road so recklessly that when she came to Alamosa, a thorough overhauling was necessary, and, with non-skid tires and some polish, no one took her to be the same.
