He deserted A. H. S. for a year and a half to revel in the bright lights of Denver. They were too much for him so the prodigal returned and he finds the simple life more to his taste. We're glad he's back for they say he's a crackerjack baseball and basket ball player." Elsie Anderson "Run! Here she comes! Yes, here comes Elsie after class jokes. It's a regular semi-monthly sight to see our Elsie chase some poor Freshie, a crazy Junior, or a Sophomore down the hall just for some jokes. Alas, fair Senior, why cast aside your dignity to follow the trail of jokes?" George "Rup" Best "Mr. George is foremost in the art of sarcasm. Even the saddest subject is turned into a side-splitting joke by Master George's irony. Don't imagine that this handsome young Senior is the best boy in school, even if his name says so." Nora Etter "'What a good looking boy!' a girl was hear to exclaim. But it wasn't a a boy at all! It was little Nora Etter parading around in her brother's scout suit. Remember that day? Sure! She led the red trail! She always leads us a merry chase!" Paloma Dyer "Slow and steady wins the race, is the motto that Paloma has followed during her stay in High School. Her quite manner will be missed next year." Horton Hicks "Horton has quietly studied his way through High School. No fuss, no nonsense, only the th0ought that good hard work will pull you through ever entered his head. Now, as he walks throug the hall anyone passing would say, "He's a Senior." James "Jim" Lanier "Jim, you certainly must be a lawyer. Why, at debating, you're a wonder. You rattle off your speech in a way that's got Daniel Webster beat a mile. But, tell me, aren't you a little too fond of Rob't W. Service?" Morine Powers "Tall, laughing and full of fun is this jolly Senior. She joined our midst just this last year and we'd have given anything to have had her four years. She's a wonder at debating. And say, she can use her tongue - and her fist if need be. Ask Richard!" Bernie Quintana "Although I'm last on the list, don't think that's where I stand. Is it my fault my name starts with Q? Yes, I've studied Medieval History three years. But as long as the third time's a charm, I'll pass this year. Glad to graduate? Oh, no! I like the athletics. I love to play ball of any sort. And say, Bernie, we hate to loose you!" JUNIORS Lois "Loith" Large "Thy wit is as quit as the greyhounds mouth - it catches." Louise "Weese" Cantwell "In the school of coquettes, Miss Louise is a scholar." Max "Maxie" Buchmann "He is not merely a chip off the old block, but the old block itself." Winabeth "Winnie" Stephenson "Whence is thy learning? Hath thy toil o'er books consumed the mid- night oil?" Frances "Frankie" Teal "Great feelings hath she of her own." Mary Elizabeth "Bibbs" Olsen "Thou hast the patience and faith of a saint." Helen "Bob" Roberts "Laugh and the world laughs with you." Harold "Fat" Howerton "With just enough of learning to misquote." Helen "Pep" Grove "As merry as the day is long." Oris "Orrie" Waldron "A ray from the land of sunshine." Frances "Red" Roberts "A fair exterior is a fine recommendation." Florence "Fat" Farnham "How pretty her blushing was and how she'd blush again -" Seth "Settie" Shull "Man is not measured by his inches." Lillian "Lilly" Bergman "Her thoughts and her conduct are her own." Margaret "Margie" Reynolds "Plain without pomp and rich without a show." Laura "Laurie" Rayburn "Studious of ease and fond of humble things." Violet "Vi" Peterson "For she was just the quiet kind whose nature never varies." Floyd "Ickie" Kline "Much might be said on both sides." Marjorie "Pinkie" Frank "Her heart as far from fraud as heaven from earth."
